|PACKING HAS BEGUN|
A Blessings in a Backpack program has been formed for the children attending the Livonia Public Schools. This program is a community based program run by 100% volunteers giving of their time and talents to improve the quality of life for “at risk” children in Livonia. Many people do not realize that 4,265 school children of the Livonia Public Schools or 28% of the school population are at risk for food insecurity. How can children learn if they are hungry? Because of the success of our bowling event we were able to begin sending backpacks home in January 2015 for the “at-risk” children at Garfield Elementary. The goal of the Steering Committee is to expand this program to the other elementary schools and then to the middle and high school as additional funds become available. To learn more or become involved please contact us. If you do not have time to volunteer, you can still support this program financially. Please make a donation to Blessings in a Backpack-Livonia by clicking the Donate Now button.
Blessings in a Backpack-Livonia would like to THANK the following businesses and people for providing wonderful in-kind donations, which helped us to have a successful auction/raffle at the Palogix Golf Outing in June:

INAUGURAL BOWLING FOR BACKPACKS
On November 22, 2014 at the newly renovated Merri-Bowl Lanes the Inaugural Bowling for Backpacks was held and it was a huge success. We would like to thank everyone you came out to support us in raising the funds necessary to begin sending backpacks home. Thank you also to all who volunteered to make this a fun afternoon for everyone who attended. The day events would not have been possible without the support we received from the community businesses and organizations as Lane Sponsors and Auction Donors. Thank you to all of you.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR LANE SPONSORS
