DORA THE EXPLORER LIVE
On March 24th the Warren Consolidated School of Performing Arts presented Nickolodeon Dora the Explorer Live!…Dora’s Pirate Adventure. The Saturday 7pm performance was a benefit for the Blessings in a Backpack-Warren Con. program. Five children from the audience were selected to come up on stage and be a part of the final number with Dora.
After the show the Blessings in a Backpack steering committee held a Pirate Afterglow. There was ice cream for all, Dora stickers, pirate patches and wristbands for all to enjoy.
The Warren Consolidated School of Performing Arts has announced that the March performance each year will be a benefit for Blessings in a Backpack. The March play has a children’s theme each year.
FIRST BACKPACKS GO HOME
The Steering Committee sent backpacks home for the first time on March 30, 2012. With the district being as large as it is the committee made the decision to start with a middle school and the three elementary schools that feed to the middle school as Phase One. The schools are Agnus, Harwood and Hatherly Elementary Schools and Grissom Middle School.
If you would like to help pack or deliver the filled backpacks to the schools please see the Packing Information to the right.
WARREN CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL DISTRICT
Warren Consolidated is a very large school district consisting of 23 schools and many children that are eligible for this program. The decision has been made by the Steering Committee to add schools in groups of three elementary schools with the associated middle school until all have been added and then add the high schools.
A donation of any size will assist with adding additional schools. A donation of $100 will feed a child for an entire school year.
